Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) This paper focuses on virtual path(VP)routing technologies developed for ATM networks. In general, VP routing is executed as a step of a network planning/design procedure. Meanwhile, several studies have been also done on the dynamic VP rerouting after VPs are set up. The paper first surveys studies on these VP routing technologies. Then, the paper introduces a VP routing technique that is to be executed before setting up a VP via SDH paths. Assuming that a VP is protected by the Backup VP method, this technique successfully finds a physically disjoint working and backup routes for a VP in a hierarchical ATM network.
