Abstract(in English) | Dynamic channel assignments, where channels are assigned dynamically corresponding to channel usage environment, are important techniques for efficient use of frequency spectrum. When applying these techniques to radio communication systems, it is required to use channels efficiently in space as well as time domain. Furthermore, in so-called microcellular systems, where zone radius is less than several hundreds meters, a prior design of fixed channel assignment becomes impractical due to radio wave propagation irregularity. Therefore dynamic channel assignments are required, where base stations select and use channels in an autonomous and distributed manner. This paper reviews autonomous and distributed channel assignment techniques. Channel Segregation, ARP(Autonomous Reuse Partitioning)and SORP(Self-Organized Reuse Partitioning)are included. Performance with these methods in FDMA and TDMA systems are discussed. Dynamic channel assignment for packet transmission systems is also described. |
