Abstract(in English) The characteristics of the plastic optical fiber(POF)such as the distortion of the Pulse width,the frequency dependence of the output power from the optical fiber and the bandwidth of the transmission has been measured by the electrical-optical module using with the reddish laser diode whose emission wavelength corresponds to the window of transmission loss of the fiber.The laser diode can be responsible to the transmission speed of 380 MHz.The distortion of the pulse of the graded-index(GI)POF was within 0.1 ns and that of the step-index(SI)POF was 0.8 ns for the pulse width of 2.5 ns and the fiber length of 50 m.The GI-POF is applicable to the optical communication network in a house connected with the FTTH.
