Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) This paper concerns the Virtual Path connection Group (VPG) of ATM networks which consists of multiple Virtual Path Connections (VPCs) terminated by the same pair of switches, and it studies the VPC selection control that selects a suitable VPC for establishing a Virtual Channel Connection (VCC) among all VPCs consisting the VPG. We propose a dynamic control method which selects VPC based on the amount of VPC bandwidth and compare throughput performance and characteristics to other methods by using call-by-call simulation. Moreover, we examine combinations of VPC selection control methods and VP bandwidth control methods, and classified the combinations, according to characteristics of cooperation.
