Abstract(in English) | In high speed networks such as B-ISDN, various types of information, e.g., data, image and voice information, are transmitted. To provide the Service for real-time communications, FEC (Forward Error Correction) is studied as useful error correction techniques because it does not need any retransmissions causing a large transmisison delay. In this paper, we focus on packetized ADPCM voice transmission as real-time transmission. We implement RSE(Reed-Solomon Erasure Coding) method, one of FEC shemes, and examine some characteristic such as packet loss rate and discuss the improvement due to FEC on UDP over IP. |
