Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Most of current video retrieval systems transfer video packets without retransmission. However, corrupted video packets can be retransmitted using assured data transfer protocols by allowing clients to read video packets ahead. This paper proposes a new video retrieval protocol, based on SSCOP for ATM network, supporting (1) function skipping video packets not delivered before replaying time, (2) flow control function for play out buffer, and (3) resynchronization function recovering from bursty packet loss. It also presents a performance evaluation result that the proposed method decreases the lost packet number to 1/100.
