Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) To support multicast communications for live media, this paper enhances an intra-stream/inter-stream synchronization mechanism and an inter-destination synchronization mechanism which the authors previously proposed for live and stored media, respectively. The authors have implemented the mechanisms on a lip-synch experimental system using an ATM network. Live video of a speaker and his voice at a source workstation are multicasted, and then they are synchronized and output at destination workstations. This paper also presents the system performance such as coefficient of variation of output interval, mean square error of synchronization, average output rate, average delay time, and total pause time.
