| Abstract(in English) | Surveying state-of-the-art activities in information and communication affairs in the Chugoku-region, we mention issues in maturing the network-based society. At first, we summarize potentials and activities relevant to information and communication affairs in the region, and give their status in relation to other regions in Japan. Next, we try to characterize related activities in the region by showing them in various aspects, e.g. academic research and technological development, govermental and organizational promotions in regional industries, etc. Finally, we consider issues in enrichment of information and communication affairs in the region by referring to academic trend on research and devlopment and also to the national policy of advancing information and communication affairs. |
