Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) In this paper, we show the effectiveness of software shaping through evaluation of our extensions to TCP and UDP. Used with resource reservation protocols such as ASP or RSVP etc., our simple extensions can overcome the throughput degradation in a long-fat pipe for TCP, and also can realize a continuous media communication of good quality which is not achieved with UDP and RTP. This research has been carried out under the AMInet project.
