Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) An inter-university network named as SCS (Space Collaboration System) was established among more than 62 sites. The number of the stations will amount to be more than 88 by the end of FY1998. The control by a HUB facilitated VSAT's operation and eliminated the necessity of qualified staffs at university sites. The use of 1.5 Mbps compressed picture channels in time sharing mode can lighten the daily expenses for the transponder. The system configuration and the operational status are described in this article.
