| 抄録(和) | コミュニケーションと通信の違いに留意しつつ、コミュニケーションサービスの品質とは何か,コミュニケーションサービスはどのようにモデル化され,品質はいかに定義されるのか,コミュニケーションサービスを支えるネットワークサービスにはどのような方式があり,品質とはどう係わるのか等,品質に関係する基本的な事柄を体系的に解説する.人対人あるいは,人対機械のコミュニケーションを情報層,環境層,通信層からなる階層モデルとして表わす.ベストエフォート型サービスの品質やATMネットワークの品質等,最近の話題も取り上げる. |
| 抄録(英) | This paper distinguishes between communication and telecommunication and systematically describes basic issues related to quality of service. For example, it discusses the qualities of communication, the modeling of communication services, the definition of their qualities, and the kinds of network services available and how they relate to the qualities. Person-to-person and person-to-machine communications are defined using a hierarchical model composed of an information layer, an environmental layer, and a telecommunication layer. The latest topics, such as best-effort service and quality of service in ATM networks, are also discussed. |
