Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Sea ice has been observed for climatic studies. In many cases, remote sensing techniques have been used to observe it. While satellite data gives a great amount of information about ice conditions, there still remains a need for in situ validations. The purpose of this study is to develop an image processing technique for such direct observation of sea ice. In this paper, a technique is described for classification of sea ice.
