Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) This paper presents a speech noise reduction system based on the modified DFT pair. By using the modified DFT, a noisy speech signal is decomposed into its composing harmonic signals. Each harmonic signal is processed through the signal and the noise level detectors. When the harmonic signal increases, the signal level detector directly transfers the variation of the input to the output. When the harmonic signal decreases, the signal level detector slowly tracks the input variation by using the averaging circuit with large time constant. The noise level detector consists of the another averaging circuit which has two large time constants. Even when the harmonic signal suddenly changes, the noise level detector tracks such variation slowly by using larger time constant. The amount of noise can be detected regardless of the voice existence. The realization and efficiency are confirmed through the computer simulations using speech signal.
