Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) It is well known that median filtering is effective for restoring multi-channel signals corrupted by impulse noise. In the case of the multi-channel signal, some median filters can be defined. Vector median filters and marginal median filters(i.e., median filtering for each channel)are typical median filters for the multichannel signal. However, we don't know which is better for restoring. In this paper, we relative study of the vector median filters and marginal median filters. Through this study, we show that the marginal median filter is superior to the vector median filter under the mean square error criterion.
