Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) This paper proposes a method for detecting microcalcifications in mammogram based on two-dimensional moments of an image power spectrum. Two kinds of rotational invariants obtained from the second moments are used as features for deciding whether microcalcifications exist or not. The one is an isotropic invariant, which responds to uneven parts of an image. It detects not only microcalcifications but also Iinear image patters such as blood vessels or mammary glands. The other is an anisotropic invariant, which responds not to the microcalcifications but to the linear patterns. Experimental results show that a combination of the two invariants produces good detection rates. by experiments.
