| 抄録(和) | 画像の直交変換符号化技術のうち,入力画像の統計的性質を基礎とするK-L変換符号化は,冗長度抑制および復号画像品質の点で最高の性能を有している.しかしながら,K-L変換は数値計算上難点があるため実用方式としては使用されず,2次元適応離散コサイン変換(ADCT)方式が画像符号化国際標準方式として採用されている.画像の自己相関関数がラプラース分布形を持つときは,K-L変換とADCTはほぼ同一の性能を有している.しかし,画像中に多くのエッジが含まれる場合,自己相関関数はラプラース分布形とはならずADCTの特性はK-L変換よりも劣化する.本論文で筆者らは,画像の符号化に入力画像の特性を利用でき,しかも数値計算上難点の無い特異値分解と,1次元離散コサイン変換を用いるアルゴリズムを提案する.提案アルゴリズムは,平坦画像だけでなく多くのエッジを含む画像の符号化に対しても極めて優れた性能を有している. |
| 抄録(英) | In this paper we propose a new encoding algorithm for pictures which decomposes the picture matrix A to singular values and eigen vectors of AA^T and A^TA based on the input picture statistics and then encodes the singular values and DCT coefficients of eigen vectors by PCM.The energy packing efficiency of the proposed algolithm is very high and the simulation results show the excellent performance of the algolithm for the encoding of both flat and edged pictures from the view point of the signal to noise ratio of the restored pictures and the coding efficiency. |
