Abstract(in Japanese) | (See Japanese page) |
Abstract(in English) | A new flexible VOD(Video On Demand) system which distributes MPEG-2 video contents to several kinds of receiver terminals via several transmission rates is described. Also, a novel MPEG-2 bitstream transcoding scheme that realizes a real time translation to a lower rate bitstream is proposed. Experimental result shows that 6Mbit/s MPEG-2 bitstream can be transcoded to 1.5Mbit/s-500kbit/s bitstream. |
