Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) This paper reports a development of a failure-resistant ATM transport method for real-time applications (FRAT-RA). The FRAT-RA method can prevent not only cell losses but also cell delay variations (CDV) even after a network failure in ATM networks. First, the outline of the FRAT-RA method is introduced and its requirements for high-quality video transmission is discussed. Next, the configuration of a new FRAT-AR prototype system are discribed. Finally, evaluation results by usign this prototype system are presented. These results show that high-quality video transmission services on ATM networks can be achieved with the FRAT-RA method.
