| Abstract(in English) | A new image restoration algorithm.that restores gray scale images from dithered images is proposed.A box type smoothing transform restores the dithered images into gray scale images,but when the box is small,large amplitude noise remains,and when the box is large,the edges are blurred.We assume that the gray tone of the original image is changed linearly over a small length.and that an image smoothed by a small box can be represented by the original image plus noise.The least squares procedure determines the regression line of the gray tone and the regression coefficient is selected as the restored gray tone.It is shown that, theoretically,the images restored by this new algorithm have noise removed and edges restored.Finally the experimental results of computer simulation is presented. |
