Abstract(in English) K-nearest neighbor averaging filter is the image restoration filter which selects k nearest pixels in local region and outputs the mean of these pixel values. However, k is constant through processing whole of image, and increasing k causes degradation of image quality. In this paper, adaptive k-nearest neighbor averaging filter that changes k based on locally freatures in order to control image quality has been proposed and applied to improving quality of clinical images. As a result, favorable processing that smoothes indifferent information while avoiding the degradation of image sharpness has been accomplished.
