| Abstract(in English) | This paper proposes a distributed geographical information system (GIS) on local area network and internetwork. We discuss about the model, imprimentation and the problems occurring when on service. Generally, when the data description and their format were unified, the imprimentation of a distributed system would become easy. However, it is not easy for geographic information system, because the geographic information has variety and it is presented in different form according what is watched or what the user want to do on it. In this paper, we propose a new type of distributed GIS called an `on demand GIS'. The system does not need unification of geographic information format and the style of description. These format and style are converted to an appropriate one when they are used. This paper also discusses about a management method for a modified information on client system, and an interface on the World Wide Web. |
