Abstract(in English) | NTT DoCoMo Inc. has developed S-band aeronautical mobile satellite telephone system for Japanese domestic airlines and has started communication services. This paper presents the mobile satellite telephone for this system which consists of the antenna unit (AU), the antenna control unit (ACU), the high power amplifier (HPA), the receive line amplifier and the transceiver unit (TU). Also, the AU consists of the transmit phased array antenna (PAA), the receive PAA and the beam steering unit (BSU). The active phased array type is applied for the receive PAA in order to achieve the desired G/T by using as small array as possible. The 60W SSPA has been developed for the HPA. This SSPA realizes ALC function over 25dB and good IM characteristics for 2-channel operations. |
