Study of advanced transmission system of moving picture in commercial mobile communication

Abstract(in English) In commercial mobile communication, advanced function is required to promote public enterprise smoothly. So the realization of "multi-rate transmission, " which means the alternative or simultaneous transmission of voice and data, is expected. We selected moving picture as the examale of data in multi-rate transmission and examined the possibility of realization. We adopted MPEG-4 encoding technology to compress moving picture data and verified suitable mobile transmission system to transmit moving picture data efficiently by means of computer simulation model. And using the result of this verification, we gathered data to examine the efficiency of transmission and verified the algorithm when we adopt this system. When we evaluate the quality of picture, we adopted PSNR (Peak Signal to Noise Ratio) as the standard.
