Abstract(in English) Under the Post-PARTNERS (Pan-pacific Regional Telecommunication Network Experiment and Research by Satellite) project we have established Ku band satellite communication network system in Asian pacific region, including Thailand, Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippine, and Fiji in 2000. Results of second year Ku-band beacon signal measurement are presented. One of the results indicate that the rain attenuation in Malaysia is much higher than that obtained using the ITU rain attenuation prediction model. In order to promote a basic science and remote education a trial experiment of MVL (Multimedia Virtual Laboratory) experiments is explained by using a network connected between satellite communication network and ground high speed network.
