| Abstract(in English) | A new broadband satellite will provide the advanced services in a few years in Korea. The rapid growth of multimedia satellite technology will meet the keen demand for faster communications and the universal access. The shortcomings associated with terrestrial communication systems will be complemented by new satellite services. The paper describes the present satellite operations, service trends, and future satellite services of Korea. Service trends and future satellite services are discussed. Several satellite communications and broadcasting systems to be developed as regional services in the near future are introduced and the topics of international cooperation are discussed. |
