A Study on Reliable Multicast Transport Protocol on 2-WAY VSAT System : User Accommodation Method Based on Localization of Rain

Abstract(in English) Reliable multicast transport protocol on 2-way VSAT system, which can deliver data reliably by confirming users to retransmit, has proposed. Since the proposed protocol decide the data to retransmit whether negative-acknowledgement(NACK) was transmitted or not, it can receive some NACK simultaneously. However, the satellite system has a limited range of electric power to receive. The limited range determined the scalability of the proposed protocol per one return link. For increasing scalability, we proposed user accommodation method based on localization of rain. In this paper, we estimate scalability of the proposed method by simulation using 10-min rain rate data obtained by AMeDAS in Japan. We confirm the proposed method can increase scalability compared to conventional method.
