Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) The intermodulation products(IMPs) and the influence on the radiation pattern due to the non-linearity of TWTs used as array amplifiers for phased-array antenna for 21-GHz band broadcasting satellites have been studied. The amplitude and phase of fundamentals and IMPs with two-carrier input were calculated by means of DFT and compared with measured results. Basic calculation parameters were derived from the amplitude and phase characteristics measured in single-carrier operation. The results showed good agreement and revealed that the phase shift of IMP was much larger than that of the fundamental. For example, phase shifts from -10 dB input-back-off to the saturation were -31, -51 and -58 degs.for the fundamental, IM3 and IM5, respectively. The array factor of linear-array equipped with TWTs was calculated by means of the method. The difference of patterns for the fundamental and IMP was illustrated.
