Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Various mobile communication services are provided and each service uses different frequency. It is expected to develop the broadband phased array antennas which have bandwidth covering most of the frequency span for the various mobile communication services. In this report, the bandwidth characteristics of the phased array antenna using the log-periodic dipole array (LPDA) antenna is analyzed by using the method of moments (MoM). A 5×5 planar phased array of LPDA antennas is investigated as an example. The bandwidth is determined by the actual gain, the sidelobe level(SLL) and the scan angle deviation(SAD). Furthermore, the mutual coupling between the LPDA antennas is compared with that of the tapered slot antenna (TSA) which is also one of the broadband antennas, which shows the coupling between the elements are dependent on the array configuration greatly.
