Design of Broadband Tapered Slot Antenna Fed by Microstrip Line

Abstract(in English) In the information-oriented society, multimedia communication of high-speed and high capacity is required. The antennas used in the communication system are required to have the characteristics of broad band, light weight, small size and low cost. Tapered Slot Antenna(TSA) is one of the candidates and is studied widely. In this study, TSA fed by microstrip line is designed by the equivalent circuit method, and its broadband characteristic is investigated. Numerical results by using FDTD method, as well as the experimental results show the effect of the feeding circuit on the band width of TSA. It is shown that the bandwidth depends on the shape of feeding stub of the microstrip line and the slot line.
