Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Throughput performance of mobile satellite communications using the Unsoltted CDMA-ALOHA system is examined. Computer simulation is carried out using measured propagation data, and throughput performances for the different propagation characteristics are compared. The packet delay performance is evaluated along with the altitude of satellite when ARQ (automatic repeat request) scheme is introduced for error control. The simulation result shows that the short packet length raises the efficiency of mobile satellite communications. When the ARQ is applied, the delay performance depends on propagation condition in urban channel, whereas the performance in suburban channel is consistent with the offered traffic.
