Performance of Coherent Adaptive Antenna Array Diversity Receiver Combined with Space Diversity in W-CDMA Reverse Link

Abstract(in English) This paper presents interference suppression effect of coherent adaptive antenna array diversity (CAAAD) receiver combined with space diversity (SD) in W-CDMA reverse link by computer simulations. The simulation results shows when the total number of antennas is 8 and 17 active users exist, the required MS transmit power at the average BER of 10^<-3> with CAAAD receiver combined with SD (we denotes [4+4] can be decreased by approximately 1.7dB compared to CAAAD receiver using 8-antenna for the average received SIR=-12dB owing to the SD effect, meanwhile almost identical performance is achieved in both schemes for the average SIR=-18dB since the beam-width of the CAAAD receiver combined with SD becomes slightly broader.
