Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) We propose a new channel estimation and data detection technique to reduce the number of iterations and make the Space-time Coding (STC) signals estimation simple. In the proposed technique, we use a basic EM algorithm in the first frame and then in the following frame, we use both the pilot symbols in the current frame and the estimation of the transmitted symbols in the preceding frame. We present the optimum weights for the pilot symbols in the current frame and the estimated transmit symbols in the preceding frame. We show that the estimated transmit symbols in the preceding frame are more reliable than the pilot symbols in the current frame. We also show that without any iteration, the proposed estimation except in the first frame can obtain almost the same performance as the conventional EM based channel estimation with several iterations.
