An α-β Tracking Filter with Feedforward Compensation

Abstract(in English) Alpha-beta filter is a tracking filter commonly used in radar system. In the design of this filter a balance must be maintained between the conflicting requirements of measurement noise reduction and suppressing tracking error due to an adrupt target maneuver. The alpha-beta filter considered in this paper has feedforward loop which can compensate the delay for the maneuvering dynamics of the target. By adding maneuver detector, the feedforward compensation is performed only when the maneuver is detected..
