Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) An evaluation of a geometric positioning error on a navigation system using communication satellites is considered. This system uses quasi-zenith satellites that could be seen in high look-angle from high latitude regions on earth such as Japan. Possible geometric error(GDOP:Geometrical Dilution of Precision)due to the satellite formation is evaluated and compared to that of the Global Positioning System(GPS). The results confirm the reliability of this system especially when the satellites are undetected when they are in low look-angle position. Evaluation is also done in the case when used in combination with the Geo-Stationary orbit(GSO)satellites.
