Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Smart antennas can suppress interymbol interference which degrades transmission quality in high-speed wireless access systems by controlling their radiation pattern adaptively. However, since the stability of conventional adaptive algorithms used in the smart antennas depends on synchronization performance of receivers, suitable radiation pattern has not been obtained in severe multipath environment. This paper proposes a novel smart antenna configuration using an eigen vector beam. The configuration is composed of feed forward sequence and the proposed antenna can form its radiation pattern independent of the synchronization performance. The effectiveness of the proposed configuration is also evaluated by measurements in a typical office room.
