Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) This rcport describes the polarimetric scattering charactcristics of multiple targets aligned in the range direction within a radar resolution. Since radar target such as terrain extends both in the range and in the along-track dirction, the backscattered wave undergoes multiple reflections. The problem in polarimetric radar is how to evaluate such a scattering matrix resultant from multiple reflected waves. This report examines the fundamental polarimetric scattering characteristics of multiple wires. The scattering matrices of composite wire are derived as a function of thei spacing, simulated by the FD-TD analysis, and then compared to the experimental data. It is shown that resultant scattering matrix changes with spacing and that the interpretation of scattering matrix by multiple target becomes difficult.
