Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) The computer communications with the satellite links which have the characteristics of multiple-sites transmission, wide-bandwidth, and disaster-resistance have become a center of attraction as the element which composes a part of the future internet. However, the communication performance of the satellite links with TCP/IP is limited due to it's large round trip times. Furthermore, it is considered that BER property is decreased due to the influence of the atmosphere. The retransmission for the lossed packet decreases it's communication preformance, but SACK options have been suggested as one of the method of solution for this problem. In this paper, we report the influence of the round trip times, bit errors, and packet losses on the effective throughput of the computer communications with the VSAT systems.
