Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) An entire beam forming network(BFN) for phased array must be equipped with the proportional number (number of beams times number of radiators) of phase and amplitude controlled function. Unit circuit cells and functional circuits for BFN, such as power divider, quadrature hybrid, variable phade shifter and variable attenuator are newly proposed and designed. The fabricated MMIC can excite 32-element active phased arrays. Wafer-scale MMIC technology and compact 3-D inter-module microwave packaging technology are proposed in order to drastically reduce the volume of satellite on-board phased array BFN equipment.
