Abstract(in Japanese) | (See Japanese page) |
Abstract(in English) | If a phased array is to radiate both left-hand circular polarized beam andright-hand circular polarized beam, it must switch the circular-polarization ports of each antenna element by using switching devices. Here I explain how a polarization-changeable phased array without active devices such as switching devices can be designed. The proposed phased array can switch the sense of rotation of the circular polarization of a scanning beam, and change the ellipticity and tilt angle of the polarization. The phased array can also identify the polarization of an unknown incident radio wave. These functions enable the phased array to be applied as a polarization-adaptive phased array. |
