Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) This paper discusses fairness in the uplink channels of CDMA cellular slotted-ALOHA packet communication systems with site diversity. A transmission power control scheme is proposed in order to decrease unfairness in packet reception at base stations. The proposed scheme decreases the transmission power of mobile stations that have a small difference between received power levels of pilot signals. Packet reception probability and throughput performance are evaluated in environments with fading and imperfect power control. Computer simulation validates the effectiveness of this scheme: service fairness is maintained for all mobile stations and the throughput performance is improved.
