A definition of transmit modulation accuracy for OFDM systems

Abstract(in English) OFDM is a promising technique for high data rate wireless LAN systems since it is robust against the delay spread which is one of the most difficult issues in the mobile radio field. In order to have an inter-operability among mobile terminals, the transmit modulation accuracy should be uniquely defined. This can not be achieved by a conventional vector error measurement, because phase noise bring relatively severe degradation. A novel vector error measurement scheme using pilot signals is introduced and discussed in this paper. Computer simulation results indicate that the proposed vector error measurement scheme makes it possible to define a universal and accurate modulation error definition for a guarantee of inter-operability among terminals.
