Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) An application of spread spectrum communication technique to a narrow track width magnetic recording system was investigated. Inter-track interference could be eliminated by using orthogonal codes for synchronous code division multiple access. Then, high track density recording is expected to be achieved using guardbandless scheme. Bit error rate could also be decreased by the high coding gain of the spread code. Furthermore, an application of a parallel combinatory spread spectrum communication technique to a dispersing write and collective reading system would increase the code rate for recording.
