Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) This paper presents a study on satellite channel access scheme in a multimedia satellite communication system. In order to accommodate many customers, satellite channels that are shared by customer earth stations should be used efficiently. In this study, traffic characteristics of circuit switched scheme, ALOHA scheme and CDMA-ALOHA scheme are analyzed by simulation using burst traffic generation model. Through the simulation, it is concluded that the CDMA-ALOHA scheme seems to be most effective. However, simulation results also indicated that traffic characteristics of CDMA-ALOHA could fall in unsteady state and some traffic control mechanism should be considered to apply the CDMA-ALOHA scheme.
