Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) In multibeam satellite communication, it is necessary to shape the radiation pattern to enhance frequency reuse. The technology of phased array antennas, developed in the field of radar, realizes very narrow beams with remarkably low sidelobes. The amplitude and phase of each element are controlled by Beam Forming Network. Generally, BFN is a analog circuit, but it is digital controlled using DA converter. The genetic algorithm, which is a linear programming method, is known to support digital optimization. We propose a new digital tuning method that uses the gradient of performance index in GA optimization. This paper describes a comparison of tuning results output assuming defocus array fed reflector antenna by the conventional genetic algorithm and proposed method given the intended beam shape.
