A Study on Interworking Technology between HIPPI and ATM

Abstract(in English) This Paper discusses the Interworking Technology between High-Performance Parallel Interface(HIPPI), which is one of the highest speed Channel Protocols at present, and ATM Adaptation Layer 5(AAL5), when the HIPPI user transfer over Asynchronous Transfer Mode (ATM) Network in a long distance. Importance of the Interworking Technology between HIPPI and ATM are clarified first. Interworking protocol structure HIPPI and ATM Network are indicated, put each protocol forms in order and open issues regarding the Interworking Technology between HIPPI and ATM Network. Finally, I describe the HIPPI Interworking to ATM.
