Performances of Trellis Coded Modulation on Nonlinear Channels

Abstract(in English) On nonlinear SCPC satellite communication channels, the performances of trellis coded 8-PSK scheme are discussed in comparison with conventional uncoded 4-PSK and 8-PSK schemes. Firstly, the deterministic calculation method of symbol error probability is analytically explained in the computer simulation. Then, various performances such as the Eb/No degradation, adjacent channel interference and required C/N value, are clarified by using the above method. Finally, it is shown that coded 8-PSK maintains or even improves its gain over 4-PSK.
