All-Planar Millimeter Wave Imaging Array (II) : Design and Experiment of Single Imaging Element

Abstract(in English) In this paper we report the design, fabrication, and experiment of a twin-slot imaging element which we have proposed as a promising candidate for millimeter-wave focal plane imaging arrays. The input impedance of the CPW-fed twin-slot antenna has been analyzed using the FDTD method, which gives important information for optimal designing of the receiving circuits. With the fabricated imaging element, we have successfully obtained the image of two 7.0cm×3.5cm plates separated by 3.0cm, showing the excellent capability of the newly proposed imaging array structure.
