Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) A channel coding combining convolutional coding and Mary-PSK/orthogonal multi-carrier transmission (MPSK/OMCT) is proposed which improves coding rate without more bandwidth. In the proposed system, the information data bits of bit interval T_s are serial to parallel converted to P parallel branches of bit interval of each branch T_p=PT_s. The parallel bits is encoded by a two steps convolutional encoder with rate nP/(n+1)(2P-1) and transmitted by an MPSK/OMCT (M=2^). The proposed system corresponds to Ungerboeck's trellis coded modulation (TCM) atP=1, i.e., TCM with a single carrier transmission. At P>1, a more efficient coding rate can be obtained than a single carrier TCM. Following the discussion of a rate P/(2P-1) convolutional coding system with BPSK/OMCT, a general system performance analysis of TCM/OMCT is described.
