Characteristics of Pre-detection Diversity Antennas Mounted on a Handy Radio Phone

Abstract(in English) This paper describes radiation characteristics of a predetection diversity antenna comprizing an inverted-F antena (IFA) and a monopole antenna(MPA) mounted on a handy radio phone model. The experimental results show that the radiation efficiency of IFA fluctuates with a value of the termination load of MPA, and the results of a time domain electromagnetic simulations explain that the reason of the degradation of the radiation effciency is the decrease of the radiation from the conducting body of the model. The autors introduce a skin depth term in the simulation, and the results of the simulation reveal a good agreement with those of experiment.
