Abstract(in English) | In personal communications systems using medium earth orbiting(MEO)satellites,it is desirable to assign only one land earth station(LES)to a handheld terminal throughout a call. Satellite diversity is also desirable to compensate for shadowing or blocking of paths between terminals and satellites.This report proposes a LES assignment method satisfying all these requirements, in which time-dependent service areas of LES′s are effectivelv ado pted.The method is evaluated for an example MEO satellite system. |
